I am immersed in technology. I use turntables and audio mixing equipment everyday. Without technology I could not DJ make the music I love. My mood and the people around can be drastically effected by the sounds we hear. I play and practice my music a lot when I am alone, but the feeling of playing for an audience is even more fulfilling. When I am alone, I like to be in balance of nature and technology. I like to have my head in a computer making beats, but I need some time to get centered in the wild.
The TV can be as a valuable source of information if you are looking at the right area. But the TV can be used as a kind of mind numbing time filler. The radio can be have just as much variety in quality as TV. You have public radio that plays music and news that other stations will not, which is a good thing. Then you have the stations that repetitively play the same content lacking songs, which is a bad thing. I tend not to watch very much and I select with much discernment the TV, music and books I read. Life is too short to spend it watching mediocre show that don’t inform or a at best, are barely entertaining.
Whether I waiting tables at work, taking classes at college, or playing in my free time, I constantly use technology in my life. I’m grateful of the many opportunities I have due to the variety of technology and medias that are available for me in this day and age. If our society was not so technology advanced, then I would have less tools to use for my advancement.
This video explain the Amen break, which is a peace of music that has been used to shape a genre of music called Drum and Bass. The small sample that is used to make Jungle Music comes from a song called Amen Brother By the Winstons.
I am a deejay and I go by DJ Crank. My styles range from a style of dance music called “Drum and Bass’ or “Jungle”. Jungle music is a music that has a large amount of drums and a driving bass-line. This site is a plethora of music of this type from the era of 1993-96, which is also called the “golden era of jungle” I use this site to hear classic mix tapes and research for tunes to use.
